![]() ![]() Recovering from losing 50% storage with Power Plant takes under 2 minutes, while Reactor takes about 6 minutes and 30 seconds. With 6x Nuclear you can lose up to 2700 power to one radscorpion. With Power Plant you lose only 1/4 of what you lose with Nuclear Reactor, that can be a lot of power considering Radscorpion can drain up to 50% of your storage, that's 450 power difference PER room. Nuclear Reactor is more worth it in terms of production, but if you don't need the extra storage I strongly suggest going for Power Plant, since their total output is arguably higher than what Nuclear Reactor offers, considering all the power you don't lose to the incidents. Power Plant (fully upgraded, 3-wide, 6x 13 Strength) = 66 power in 48 sec = 82,5 power/min, 300 storage ![]() Nuclear Reactor (fully upgraded, 3-wide, 6x 13 Strength) = 85 power in 56 sec = 91,07 power/min, 1200 storage Less storage = less lost power in incidents = faster recovery Either way, having regulated storage is good, since incidents drain % of your storage, not fixed amount of units, which is the main reason for having Power Plant over Nuclear Reactor. I had 6x Nuclear for entirely filled vault, but it would work with just 4x Nuclear and 2x Power plant and I'm not exactly sure how much I would need if all the dwellers had 17 Strength. You won't need more than 6x 3-wide power rooms, remember to make them all 3-wide, because they gain bonus production from being large, similar to Living Quarters you gain 40 dwellers from 3-wide room, but if you devide them into 2-wide and 1-wide, you get less, so you will have to make another block of living quarters to make up for it, which is waste of space, higher electricity consumption and for production rooms also waste of dwellers, because you have to fill more rooms with dwellers to get similar output. You want high production and storage, but not more than you need. ![]()
